DSLFM (The Dark Side of Lite FM), is the musical alias of New York City- based visual artist Daniel Kingery. Kingery moved to New York in 2013 after 12 years in Berlin, where, in addition to his heavy involvement in the visual arts, he fronted the dance band Simple Machines from 2003-2007, playing underground clubs and venues throughout the city. After moving to New York, Kingery began to compose and record music under this new moniker, chronicling the heartache and confusion of his trans-Atlantic move. His newest project, "Oh Synthia!" chronicles the heartache and exploits of Synthia, a synthetic synthesizer/robot woman as she navigates love and dancing in post-pandemic New York. The title single, "Oh Synthia!" was released on August 23rd, 2024, followed by "Say You're Gonna Stay," on September 20th, with the full album to follow.
